Description
The first image shows an hourglass from which the sand appears to have been extracted, lying in a pile nearby. Daffodils and Snowdrops, lit up by flashlight, grace the scene. The photo tries to convey ideas surrounding mortality, or the cycle of life. In the second image, a drill bit has appeared to break upwards from underground, its tip glowing red hot as a result. The third photo shows a row of onions whose shadows conform to the shape of teardrops. In the fourth and final picture, a stone – a perfect oval – sports an engraving – ‘instantly forgettable’. It represents an unlikely marriage of sublime nature and kitsch and points out an irony in the art of collecting.
